City of Seattle Emergency Management Coordinator - Logistics in Seattle, Washington
Position Description
The Emergency Management program, a part of Seattle Public Utilities' (SPU) Risk and Quality Assurance Division is currently recruiting to fill an Emergency Management Coordinator - Logistics position. Under the direction of the Emergency Management program manager, this individual is responsible for maintaining the physical resources, including facilities, supplies, and equipment of SPU's Emergency Management Program.
Job Responsibilities
- Maintain emergency management operations facilities, response equipment, training resources, property and supply inventories
- Support implementation of the new regional radio system (PSERN)
- Maintain and update personnel and resource databases, and emergency notification lists
- Prepare consultant or contractor requests-for-proposal and manage any resulting projects and contracts
- Maintain and support seasonal community outreach and supply sites
- Management of supplies and equipment shipments, including ordering, receiving, distribution, and inventory
- Prepare and support logistical plans and related NIMS resource-management documentation
Prepare and manage basic-level projects for emergency management related maintenance, repair, or construction. Work Environment/Physical Demands:
Work is performed in a variety of environments, including office buildings, supply yards, storage sheds, and remote work sites
- Field assignments entail exposure to all types of weather, traffic, and/or hazardous/toxic substances
- May be required to lift over 50 pounds
- May be required to stand, walk, or bend for extended periods of time
- May be required to work nights, evenings, weekends, and/or holidays. Qualifications
*Experience: * Three (3) years of experience in systems, operations, procedures, research or analysis
*Education: * A Bachelor's degree in business or public administration, finance, computer science, or a related field
*Experience/Education Equivalence: * A combination of education, training or experience that provides an equivalent background required to perform the work of the class.
*License: * Washington State Driver's License
Additional Information
The ideal candidate should possess:
- Experience in emergency management or supply chain logistics
- Experience dealing with incidents within an Emergency Operations Center (EOC) or operational emergency response, covering multi-operational periods
- Demonstrated knowledge of all-phases of emergency management, in order to step-in to support preparedness and response
- Possess excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated ability to work independently to achieve broad goals
- Licensed Amateur radio operator and/or experience with managing operational radio systems.
Salary: $41.26 - $48.09 Hourly
