The High Availability & Storage team which is part of Cloud and AI Platform Division is looking for smart, dynamic and self-motivated software engineers with high growth potential and a passion for distributed systems. As a member of our team, your work will have broad impact across multiple products including very large private cloud datacenters and Microsoft Azure. You will be exposed to latest technologies including Hybrid Cloud, Containers, and S2D, and help contribute to Microsoft’s next generation Hybrid Cloud Storage Platform.

We are mostly looking for someone with raw smarts and passion for technology. Strong design, coding, and problem-solving skills are a must. Strong coding skills in C or C++, knowledge of operating systems, storage, networking, distributed systems and/or cloud technologies would be a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and shipping solutions for the Enterprise Private Cloud and Intelligent Edge. This includes:

  • Designing distributed, scalable services

  • Implementing highly reliable multi-threaded features

  • Optimizing performance, and rapidly solving problems

  • Writing tests and ensuring high ship quality

Qualifications

Required

  • 2+ years' of recent experience designing and implementing applications or features in the OS

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in computer science, OR 3+ years’ experience involving proven problem solving and design skills developing features in the OS or distributed systems

  • 2+ years’ experience implementing features in C or C+ Preferred

  • Experience with Storage, Networking or distributed systems.

  • Experience working on cloud technologies

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills

  • Comfortable with significant feature/product complexity

  • Comfortable working in a large, continuously shipping codebase
