The Agile Business Analyst will be primarily in the Business Systems Division of WaTech. Their main work purpose is to create positive interactions between customers, users, developers and management to help them focus on their business by bridging the gap between their business and technology by providing clarity through business analysis.

_What would you be doing in this role? _ There are five main things you will be doing:

  1. Working closely with a variety of different customers to discover, capture, and review business requirements to help them achieve their desired business outcomes.
  2. Working closely with implementation teams to help them understand business goals and outcomes for the customers. This can be in the form of business requirements, visual diagrams, prototypes and various other forms of documentation. The Business Analysts ensure that for each business requirement, the desired outcome is clear and the developer has what they need to begin implementation of a solution for the problem.
  3. Collaborating with Project Managers and Systems analysts on new IT projects and major enhancement IT projects.
  4. Working with your awesome and wicked smart teams to improve the State's systems and create an Agile mindset in state government.
  5. Plus, all the other things you can do to add value that we haven't thought of yet.

Concisely, we are looking for more people who share a passion for exploring, mapping, and discovering our customers' business needs. Since a significant amount of time in this role is clients, users, management, and developers, effective communication is a must.

Since this is a role to help create clarity and improve efficiency and outcomes throughout an organization, we are looking for someone who is experienced in the multiple approaches of the Business Analysts. This includes traditional end-to-end business analysis using the BABOK guide to the application of agile practices using tools like Epics, User Stories, and Acceptance Criteria to capture requirements.

We are also big in Agile practices, cloud technology, intrapreneurship, and transparency so if you have experience with agile practices, Scrum, Lean Startup, Jira, and the like, that's a plus. Make sure you also mention it in your application materials.
