ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN Totem Lake, WA
Temp to Hire Opportunity!
New opening with an outstanding client that provides end to end electronic manufacturing services including design, printed circuit board assembly, complex box builds, final system integration and test.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Setup and use test equipment
Assemble and rework devices
Troubleshoot devices and circuits
Document test/rework/troubleshooting history
Create custom test setups (fixtures, cables, etc.)
Check equipment calibration and follow calibration processes
Performs the set-up calibration, testing, and troubleshooting of circuits and assemblies
Performs various equipment maintenance as required
Recognizes failures and set-up problems and determines needs for appropriate verifications
Records failures and maintains accurate tracking history
Understands and adheres to 5S
Follow proper Electro State Discharge (ESD) procedures at all times and be knowledgeable of and perform job in accordance with proper material handling procedures and guidelines
Understand the metrics that apply to his or her job and understand how they contribute to the stated objectives
Reads and performs assigned tasks in accordance with work orders, manufacturing process instructions (MPI’s), production drawings, sample assemblies, verbal instructions, labor standards, stated production schedules and corporate quality goals
Other duties as assigned
Education
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and minimum five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Requirements
Must have the ability to initiate and follow simple computer programs and understand set up of test equipment
Component identification skills for both PTH and SMT components, including polarity and identify component type and value and adapt to changing workload
Knowledge of Flying Probe, In Circuit Testing, and Functional Test
Familiarity with use of calibrated tools used for assembly, measurement and verification, such as pneumatic power tools, torque drivers or critical measurement tools such as calipers and pin or hole gauges is required
Must be able to understand and follow complex work instructions, adapt quickly to changing priorities and job assignments and work well with others
Ability to operate oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, digital multi-meters and computer automated test equipment
Ability to understand schematics, component specifications, and technical documentation
Ability to identify component type and value and adapt to changing workload
MS Office Suite (Excel, Access, Outlook, PowerPoint, MS Project etc)
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations
Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry
Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations
Strong customer service focus
Strong teaming skills
Be flexible, adaptable, able and willing to modify activities and direction with an ever-changing business environment
Strong interpersonal skills and work ethic
