Senior Counsel, Clinical Operations

The Senior Counsel, Clinical Operations, will be Clinical Operations’ primary point of contact within Transaction Law. The role will be responsible for ensuring client needs are met but also for future resource planning.


  • Negotiates and drafts contracts related to clinical trials, including Company-sponsored clinical trial agreements, CRO agreements and IST agreements

  • Interfaces with Clinical Operations department to manage workload and for resource planning

  • Maintains knowledge of, and advises on, applicable domestic and international laws and regulations

  • Leads formulation of Company policies and procedures

  • Interfaces with external legal resources, as needed

  • Other responsibilities as assigned


  • 8 – 10 years of relevant legal experience, including experience as in-house counsel

  • Experience in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment is critical, as is ability to “roll up sleeves” and work in a hands-on manner, as well as provide legal leadership and guidance

  • Experience in the pharmaceutical/biotechnology industry is required

  • Computer proficiency including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint


  • JD degree and active member of Washington State Bar Association or eligible to promptly register as in house counsel
