The Boeing Company Integrator Analyst - Mid-level in Bellevue, Washington

The Boeing Company has an exciting opportunity as an Integrator Analyst in Bellevue, WA. This position will provide system level support as member of Boeing's Java/Middleware Technical support team focusing on a Platform Operator for Cloud Foundry. Cloud Foundry is an application hosting environment which enables continuous integration and continuous delivery. The platform is based on cloud Foundry provided by Pivotal and installed on both VMWare as well as OpenStack Private Cloud.

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Use Boeing IT ecosystem knowledge to help drive the Cloud Foundry service and its technological capabilities.

  • Learn about technologies, processes, and procedures of Boeing IT in order to help drive successful strategic direction of the Cloud Foundry service.

  • Use Cloud Foundry knowledge to help drive changes within Boeing IT that supports the internal cloud vision.

  • Ability to develop documentation for the purpose of defining processes to be used by the Cloud Foundry team, as well as develop documentation for user consumption when necessary.

  • Work with customers in the Digital Transformation Environment (DTE)

  • Work with vendors to increase adoption and usability of the service.

  • Help manage infrastructure resources for future capacity.

    Position includes design input and build of web application execution environments, including install, configure and support WebSphere Application Server and HTTP Server including java-based applications, in addition to the newly developed platform of Pivotal Cloud Foundry as well as any new PaaS Middleware support.

    Provides technical support to architect, design and build web application server environments on a variety of platforms for Boeing line-of-business application projects; third level technical problem resolution & recovery involving hardware, software, and network; troubleshooting & escalation; software installation; JAVA based application support escalation; consultation on web related issues; participation in Boeing web related architectural & leadership teams; support of product and system software upgrades; disaster recovery testing; information sharing, advising, consultation.

    Activities and liaison work could include:

  • Product planning

  • Product certification

  • Installation packaging

  • Installation instructions

  • Consultation / problem resolution

  • Usage Documentation

  • Install and Configure environment for application usage

  • Performance monitoring and tuning

  • Application Support: Code Promotions, Error analysis, Environment Integration, User connectivity, etc.

  • Integration Support: Manage the integration of all tools into all three tiers (Dev, Intg, Prod), Test/Release

  • Block point Support: Manage, test, and release OS Block point releases into the system

  • Retirement/Migration of non-going-forward technologies

Basic/Required Qualifications:

  • Technical bachelor’s degree or higher

  • Understanding commonly accepted IT process frameworks

  • One year of Cloud Foundry administration

  • Experience with Continuous Integration and Continuous Deliver (CI/CD) Pipeline

  • Experience with tool chain items, GIT, JIRA, Concourse

  • Experience with backlog management tools

  • Ability to gain knowledge related to Boeing IT’s complex ecosystem and apply it to the Cloud Foundry’s strategic direction.

  • History of customer service and discovering their needs.

  • Excellent communication skills (verbal, written, and presentation) and the ability to teach others about Cloud Foundry.

  • Experience with Agile Methodologies

Typical Education/Experience:

Technical bachelor's degree and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or a Master's degree with typically 3 or more years' or a PhD degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience. A technical degree is defined as any four year degree, or greater, in a mathematic, scientific or information technology field of study.
